The
responsible use of firearms has had a meaningful role in David's
life. At the age of nine his father taught him general firearms
safety and how to shoot a .22 rifle. At the age of eleven
he was given his own shotgun and taught the safety rules of hunting. By
the age of fourteen, under the guidance of his father, he was
shooting pistols competitively in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio and
reloading his own ammunition. On two occasions, he had the
opportunity to take additional instruction and compete in the
National matches at the Camp Perry Military Reservation in Ohio.
An appreciation for firearms, and belief in their responsible
and respectful use has remained a part of who David is.

David has been diving since 1992. What began as a hobby
became a part-time professional activity when he became PADI (Professional
Association of Diving Instructors) certified in 1995. With
additional training and experience he became a Master Scuba Diver
Trainer in 1998. Presently, he works as an independent contractor
on staff for West Michigan Dive Center.
And...David
loves to ski.
